Enjoy the Door County Sports & Classics Car Show, a new car show sponsored by the Egg Harbor Business Association.
Anyone
whose heart rate races with the sight of a sleek sports car or the
vision of a vintage classic car had better be prepared to have their
pulse checked on Saturday, August 18 in the beautiful Village of Egg
Harbor.
It's
car show season in Door County, and this Saturday brings the annual
Bayland Classic at Jim Olson Motors in Sturgeon Bay. Cars, trucks,
motorcycles, and a variety of other vehicles will be on display from
8:00 am until mid-afternoon when trophies are awarded. The show is
sponsored and hosted by Jim Olson Motors and Carquest of Door County,
located right next door.
April 9 brought sunny but cool weather for the 4th Annual Charity Event &
Car Show. The car show took place at The Draft Haus (formerly the
Reef) on Egg Harbor Road in Sturgeon Bay. Last year this car show raised $3200 that was
donated to Mike Wery (A.K.A. MUCCA) and local food pantries. Mike was
involved in a motorcycle accident. He suffered severe head trauma and
spent countless weeks in the hospital. The donations helped Mike pay for
medical bills and living expenses during his rehabilitation. A portion
of the proceeds was also donated to various local food pantries. With
tough economic times, the group wanted a way to give back to the community.
Well, it's not in Door County, but
it's so close and such a great show we simply must include it here. Our
good neighbor Algoma holds its 11th Annual Main Street Car Show on May
21, 2011. Car owners and buffs will want to mark their calendars
now.
It takes place right downtown on Main Street and usually
draws well over 100 vehicles, including motorcycles, hot rods, classics,
and stock vehicles. Check out the details here.

Doris got herself all gussied up and traveled over to the
annual Bayland Classic Car Show at Jim Olson Motors in Sturgeon Bay.
Over fifty vehicles of all kinds and vintages entered the competition.
There was everything from cars of the early part of the century to
modern-day modified cars, trucks, and motorcycles. It was a very hot
day but Doris sat in the sun like a princess and charmed her admirers.
