Awesome Cat Virgil Named After Roman Poet

Here’s a suggestion to come in out of the rain: Visit the Humane Society, walk in the door and straight ahead to the cat cage on the lower left, #21B. That’s where I am living, waiting for you to arrive and fall in love with me.
I'm named after this good-looking Roman poet.
Hi, Door County friends! … my name is VIRGIL. Since mid-February, I’ve been here in this cage, watching legs walk past and other cats peer in to see how I’m doing. It sure would be nice to be out in a real home where I can stretch my legs, watch birds out the window, and lay in a sunny spot on the carpet.
The card on my cage reads “Male, 3-5 years, neutered & vaccinated” and then there’s a big red note that says “Absolutely NO DOGS!”. Yup, dogs of any type are not for me. In my previous home, I was really scared of the dog so that’s why I am here at the shelter. Surely one of you Journal readers is a capital C “Cat Person” who understands? We’d get along famously because we agree already about those silly dogs, and their fetching and jumping in play pools.
Cats are quite above such shenanigans, and I should know because I am such a cat. If you are searching for a gentleman cat named for a classic Roman poet, ask for VIRGIL.
Please take me home and read me some poetry!
