Big Earl: Seeking Human Companion to Live Large Together
By Door County Humane Society - Sponsored by Serves You Right Catering

Do you appreciate Sidney Greenstreet? Are you someone who believes that bigger is better? If so, we have to meet. I’m a cat of great girth and gentleness who is at the Door County Humane Society. I’m called Big Earl, and I have quite a story to tell if only there was someone who spoke “cat”.
OK, let’s get it out there right now…24½ pounds of love in an orange marmalade coat. Yup, from what I hear that may be a new record for the shelter. I was found on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, 2010, at a resort along Bayshore Drive north of Sturgeon Bay. Of course, when I first arrived at the Humane Society, they had to find the extra-large commodious cage but after I passed my vet check and had all my shots, I received Lobby Greeter privileges and joined the free-range cats. Now I’m happy to sack out in the Director’s office, taking up one chair in her office where I can keep abreast of all the goings-on. I’d be most happy to trade this chair for one at your house so I can keep you company as well.
I’m between 3-5 years old right now, and someone loved me a lot at some point in my life. I’m neutered and front declawed so think how hard it was to be out in the cold in November. Somewhere along the line, my vulnerable ears were frostbitten, and as a result, I lost a portion of one because of that exposure. Don’t worry, I can hear perfectly. For a cat, I’m pretty placid and easy-going so a household with kids would be fine.
Perhaps you know the expression “living large”? Well, why don’t we try living large together? Come meet me, Big Earl, at the Door County Humane Society.
Love, Big Earl
