The Zaftig Felines - Living Large

"Livin' large" isn’t just an expression at the Door County Humane Society. Several of our long-term cats have a somewhat more zaftig figure than they should. It's time to get them into a house where they can actively play with people, other pets, or little pink socks.
Through the end of the July, there is a Fat Cat Special adoption fee of $50 for those pleasantly plump cats at the shelter. There are (15) on that select list, male & female, some older and some very young.
Here are some of cats on the list, with ample reasons to be adopted …
MITTY, adopted as a kitten in August 2007, but returned to us in September 2010 due to allergies.
Mitty is fascinated by water, sitting in the sink and grabbing at droplets. She’ll happily drink straight from the faucet.
AKON is approaching his one year anniversary at the shelter, arriving on 7/31/10 as a baby from Baileys Harbor.
ACARO is the brother of Akon, and like him, has only known the small world of the shelter in his life. Born in May 2010, at DCHS since July ’10.
Virgil
VIRGIL is happy to be out of a cage and part of the lobby cat gang.
He is a persistent explorer, and likes to visit all the cages to say hello and encourage the cats inside that their day will come.
