Orchard
Country Winery & Market will release the 5th edition of its Door
County Lighthouse wine series featuring the Old Baileys Harbor Light and
local artist Kathy Glasnap on Saturday, May 12th from 10 am – 5 pm. The limited edition semi-dry Cherry Riesling is housed in a blue lighthouse-shaped wine bottle and retails for $19.95.
In
the glow of lantern light, visitors will have an opportunity to tour
the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse after sunset this fall. Guests to the
lighthouse will set back in time … sharing in the adventures of the
second keeper, William Duclon, who manned the light from 1883 – 1918.
As
night descends over the Door Peninsula, the lamp is lit at Eagle Bluff
Lighthouse. And as its beam brightens the night sky, the voices of past
keepers whisper in the dark, their stories echoing in the dark. And
for the next two weekends, the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Museum invites
guests to step back in time and revel in the tales of the keepers
through story, song, and poetry.
Located in Peninsula State Park, Eagle Bluff Lighthouse welcomes
guests to visit the historical building during the evenings of September
23 & 24, and October 14 & 15 from
6:30 - 7:30 pm. The Northern Door Storytellers Guild will be in
residence to share tales of the sea, and lighthouse lore, perform
traditional music, and recite legends in verse.
