Door County Habitat for Humanity Begins Work on New Home

We are overjoyed at the prospect of starting our 33rd Door County Habitat home.
The photograph shows the hole that was dug by Soil Specialists late last week. The sewer and water laterals are in. The breaker run will be done on the driveway before Tuesday and additional stone will be put into the foundation.
The future resident's dad visited the worksite last Tuesday when our volunteers were felling trees to make room for the driveway. He and his daughter are both excited about the work that will begin this week.
This is our "Thrivent Builds Homes" project for this year. The local Thrivent Chapter is hoping to coordinate food for the project and also send many Lutherans and Thrivent members to the worksite.
Having waited since April for our first new home, you can imagine how satisfied we are that things will soon get started!
