By Door County Maritime Museum
Sep 7, 2011 - 8:26:11 AM
The Door County Maritime Museum, in conjunction with J & M Fisheries, will be hosting a fish boil with an open house at the Museum's Gills Rock facility on Sunday, September 18. The open house, which will allow visitors to experience the new exhibit "Ghost Ships of Wisconsin’s Schooner Coast," will take place from 10 am until 5 pm. The fish boil will begin at 12:30 p.m. with a social hour followed by dinner at 1:30. To lend an authentic atmosphere to the proceeding, the fish boil will take place in the net shed of J & M Fisheries on Weborg’s Dock in Gills Rock. The traditional boil will include fresh whitefish, potatoes, onions, coleslaw from Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant, rye bread and cherry slices for dessert. Music will be provided by Capt. John Nolte. Weborg’s Dock is located on highway 42 in Gills Rock a short distance before the turn towards Northport. Cost is $20 for Museum members and $25 for non-members. Youth, ages 5-18, are $10 and $15 respectively. Reserve at www.dcmm.org or call the Museum at 920-743-5958 by Tuesday, September. 13.
