Marilyn Jensen, (right) owner of Sister Bay Trading Company, and employees Jodi Gonzales (left) and Hanna Stauber arrange the business' 2010 tablescape.
The Peninsula School of Art, in Fish Creek, will hold its eleventh annual spring benefit luncheon on Thursday, June 23 from noon to 2pm at Gordon Lodge, 1420 Pine Drive in Baileys Harbor. The luncheon will reprise last year's Tablescapes theme with original table and decorating accents donated by local artisans, designers and florists. Themed collections will be awarded by a lottery ticket drawing during the event. Sister Bay Trading is donating the lottery grand prize - a lavish vignette of home décor items.

Other contributing  businesses include: Blue Dolphin House, Clay Bay Pottery, Deanna Clayton Gallery, Door County Event Planner, Door County Nature Works, Edgewood Orchard Galleries, Ephraim Clayworks, Flora Special Occasion Flowers, Great Northern by Design, KB Miller Clothing, Maxwell's House, Nathan Nichols & Company, Newport House, Pipka's of Door County, Plum Bottom Pottery, Spa at Sacred Grounds, Savory Spoon, Tannenbaum, Turtle Ridge and Viva la Cottage.

Proceeds from Tablescapes benefit the youth outreach programs at Peninsula School of Art. The luncheon is the second major annual fundraising event at the school, the other being the Door County Plein Air Festival in July.

This is the second year that Jane Wienke and her daughter, Marnie, co-chaired the planning of Tablescapes.  According to Cinnamon Rossman, Director of Community Programs & Events, the mother/daughter team's efforts are instrumental to the event's success.

"Jane and Marnie not only determine the overall feel of the Tablescapes luncheon, but the amount of community involvement in the event," she says.

A social hour begins at noon and will include viewing of the tablescapes, selling of lottery tickets to win one of the decorative collections, and cocktails. Lottery tickets will be sold in the amounts of 10 tickets for $20, or 25 tickets for $40. Luncheon, served at 1:00pm, includes a Door County cherry-and-walnut salad, entree, and a sampling of desserts. The lottery drawing will occur immediately after lunch.

Tickets for the luncheon are $45 each. Reservations may also be made for tables of eight. Advance purchase of tickets is recommended, with a limited number of tickets available at the door. Tickets may be obtained at the Peninsula School of Art, 3900 County Road F in Fish Creek, by calling 920-868-3455, or online at www.PeninsulaSchoolofArt.com.
