Cottage Row Framing & Gallery will host a Meet the Artist Reception featuring Charles L. Peterson on Saturday, May 28th from 10 am – 1 pm in the big red barn at Orchard Country.

The event will feature the opportunity to meet Mr. Peterson, view his collection of 30 new paintings and drawings, and his books will also be available for signings. He is looking forward to presenting his newest work, "I feel good about this collection, confident that it has a nice range of subject and treatment, fully living up to my standards."

Featured artist Peterson is well-known for his use of watercolor, pencil and inks. His paintings and sketches feature many of his favorite subjects such as local landscapes, ordinary life, historical characters, farming scenes, wildlife, and commercial sailing.

“It is intensely gratifying to hear viewers' reactions to my work. It functions as a kind of conversation in which my painting serves as a comment on the subject, and they respond according to their own experience, enriching the encounter for both of us.”

Peterson moved to Door County in 1973, following a 20 year career as Professor and Department Head at Marietta College. He is internationally well-known and is listed among the “Modern Marine Masters” by the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport Museum. He has also been listed by the US Art Magazine among The Top Ten Most Popular in the nation’s print industry.

Cottage Row Framing & Gallery, a unique gallery of traditional Door County art is located at 9197 Highway 42, ½ a mile south of Fish Creek, in the big red barn at Orchard Country. The gallery is open year round and current hours are 10 am- 5 pm daily and Sundays 10 am- 4 pm. For additional information call 920-868-2626 or visit www.cottagerowgallerydc.com.
