Dear Skipper,
I love to celebrate Halloween, but I need some good ideas for a costume. Do you have any clever, easy to make costumes that you could suggest? Thanks! Have a happy Halloween, Skipper! Your friend, Charlotte K. DePere, WI
Dear Charlotte, I love to celebrate Halloween, too! I love getting dressed up, going Trick-or-Treating and seeing all of my friends in their costumes. Here are some fun, easy and creative ideas for Halloween costumes: Idea #1. “Smartie Pants” Tape, pin, or glue smarties candies all over your pants... bring some along to hand out along with your tidbits of wisdom. Idea #2: “Ceiling Fan” Write "Go Ceilings!" on the front of your shirt. Add other gear if you want (pom poms, big foam finger, etc.) And don't forget to cheer! Idea #3: “Green With Envy” In your word processor, print out very large letters N and V in black and cut them out.. Dress head-to-toe in green and affix the 2 letters, N V, on your chest. If people ask what you are, you can tell them you are Green with Envy! Idea #4: “Tickled Pink” Dress in all pink and carry a feather duster with you. What are you? Tickled pink. Idea #5: “Tea Bag” This idea works well if it is very cold out because you can wear lots of layers under your costume. Just take a white garbage bag, cut holes for your head and arms and tape or write the letter “T” on the front of it. Idea #6: “Black Eyed Pea” With black face paint, draw the letter p around each of your child's eyes. When asked what you are, you can say that you’re the classic southern vegetable -- or the popular musical group. Have a great and SAFE Halloween, Charlotte.
