Award Winning Singer/Songwriter melaniejane Performs

An award winning singer/songwriter, melaniejane continues to musically evolve. Always eclectic, a blend of original material, her “new sound” features an electric cello and backing tracks. Performing with pat mAcdonald, the multi-talented musician plays a variety of instruments…percussion, keyboard, and accordion, as well as providing vocals.
She brings her unique style to the Door Community Auditorium Fireside Coffeehouse concert, Saturday, March 6 at 7 pm. Tickets are $14.
Performing throughout the United States and Europe, melaniejane has shared the stage with noted artists including Sammy Llanas of The BoDeans, Victoria Vox, The Buggs, Ruby James, The Silos, Mary Fahl—October Project, and Jen Chapin. She has appeared on National Public Radio and Wisconsin Public Radio. In 2007 melaniejane “experienced a life-changing event” when she participated in the Steel Bridge Songfest in Sturgeon Bay as a featured artist. She increased her involvement in 2008 and currently she assists as a co-organizer.
She has been honored as the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) female vocalist of the year, as the Best of Milwaukee, female performer, and as a WAMI nominee as a string performer and folk artist. She has donated performances as part of fundraising events for, among others, The Hunger Task Force, the arts programs in the Racine/Kenosha School District, Hurricane Jam Relief Fund, American Diabetes Association, The Women’s Shelter Coalition, Empty Bowls whose proceeds feed the homeless, the Brady Campaign for stricter handgun laws and the Bride School for Physically Challenged Children, founded by Neil Young.
Seating for the Fireside Coffeehouse Concerts is limited and advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended. General admission tickets are $14 plus tax and facility fee, Tickets are available at the Door Community Auditorium box office, by phone (920.868.2728), or via the internet at www.dcauditorium.org. Box office hours are Monday and Friday, 10 – 3 pm; weekend show days, 11 – 3 pm; and one hour prior to a performance. The Door Community Auditorium is located in Fish Creek, just north of the town center on Highway 42. Refreshments will be available for purchase during this performance.
