Play Human Foosball at Fish Creek Winter Festival
By Fish Creek Winter Festival
Feb 1, 2011 - 6:32:00 AM
Come to Fish Creek Winter Festival this year and play a new game. Human foosball! It's a new twist on an old game. Everyone has played foosball at the bar
but now the time has come to give human foosball a try. The Human
Foosball Tournament makes its exhibition debut at the 24th annual Fish
Creek Winter Games on Saturday, Feb. 5 with the first game starting at
10:30 a.m. Spectators can be prepared for a fun and wacky sight unseen in
Fish Creek history.
For life size foosball fun, eight teams consisting
of six
members
each will face off in the ice rink off Clark Park. Players will be
attached to a pole along a cable-a row of three players, a row of two
players, and goalie for each team-and work and move in concert with each
other to send the ball into the goal and rack up a winning score. Each
game will consist of two periods with a break in between; winners will
advance to the semifinal and final rounds to the championship game at
3:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams with bragging rights
included.
Spectators will enjoy a great view of the tournament from
Clark Park-dedicated fans may want to bring a lawn chair-where food and
beverages will be available all day in the heated tent (carry-ins are
not allowed). Other wacky Winter Festival games for all ages will be
taking place at the tent all day as well. Players must be 18 years of
age. $30 entry fee per team. For Human Foosball Tournament team sign-up
and entry forms, please contact Digger at the Fish Creek Information
Center (920) 868-2316. Sign-up deadline is February 1.
