For the 6th year in a row, internationally and nationally renowned kite fliers, makers and designers will fill the skies over Fish Creek with kites
But you don't have to be an expert to participate in the Kite "Jamboree". Anyone can fly anything. Oldsters and youngsters stand together harnessing the wind's glorious force to lift their beauties into the Door County sky. Some kites actually never leave the ground, but are in fact designed to fly from a stake in the ice. So whatever you'd like to do will probably work, and there's plenty of space. Spectators chat with the kite fliers and learn the fine nuances of the sport.
Besides the kites, there are fun games played out on the ice, and they are appropriate for kids of all ages. In addition, there are dog sled rides (small fee) around a small circle course. Stay for lunch ... there are a number of outdoor vendors with hot lunches serving most of the day. If you prefer to eat inside, you'll have several choices right downtown ... The Cookery, Bayside Tavern, and the C&C Supper Club, just to name some of the local favorites. See you out there....bring the camera! And of course your kite if you like!
