Foust and McKillip will demonstrate a variety of techniques for stage fights, slaps, punches, kicks, falls and other physical stage business Sept. 24 in "How to Slip on a Banana Peel." Foust will share his experiences performing in Kabuki-style theatrical productions in “Kabuki – The People’s Theatre of Japan” Oct 1. Kabuki is marked by stylized movement, elaborate makeup and a broad style that made it popular with the common people of Japan. HELP of Door County will present a seminar Oct. 8 on conflict resolution, especially as it relates to the conflicts in “God of Carnage.” HELP of Door County provides domestic abuse prevention and intervention services and will relate their expertise to the conflicts between and among families in the play. Inspired by the conflicts in “God of Carnage,” Foust, McKillip, Carney and Woditsch will all present great Shakespeare scenes of arguments and altercations Oct. 15. All seminars will be held from 2:30 - 4 p.m. Saturdays in the Players rehearsal hall and are free to the public. They will require advance reservations, however. Peninsula Players Theatre is committed to providing educational programming for the community. The Players has a long history of educational initiatives including an intern program that dates back to the founding days of the Players in the 1930s. Recent programming has included theater tours, outreach to the schools, public seminars and play readings. New programming is being developed for the 2011-12 winter season. Peninsula Players is a non-profit theater and a member of Actors’ Equity Association, the union of professional actors and stage managers, and employs professional actors for all of its productions.
